VegFest, Inc

VegFest is a non-profit based in Worcester MA that seeks to create a culture of support for plant-based living in New England by inspiring people and places to become more veg-friendly—to benefit people, animals, and the planet. We show others that vegan living can be fun, easy, accessible, and delicious. Our programs target both individual and systemic changes while building networks of collaboration. We run NEVF and other programs that bring the community together to learn about vegan living. In 2010, VegFest was founded as VegWorcester, a volunteer group that sought to help make the city of Worcester, Massachusetts, more vegan-friendly, in order to help people more easily make the choice to switch to a plant-based diet. That same year, we launched the first Worcester VegFest at a local high school. The festival rapidly expanded, later being named the New England VegFest and welcoming crowds of up to 10,000 community members eager to learn about plant-based living and try delicious vegan food. In recognition of the expanding reach out our organization and our philosophy that plant-based eating is fun and enjoyable, we were later renamed VegFest, Inc. VegFest's mission is to create a culture of support for plant-based living in New England by inspiring people and places to become more veg-friendly—to benefit people, animals, and the planet. Our vision is a plant-based, environmentally sustainable food system in a world where animals are protected from violence.

Our programs target both individual and systemic changes while building strong networks of collaboration. Whenever possible, we collaborate with and support local veg-friendly businesses and non-profits by providing them with platforms to connect with customers and promote their brands. We work with exclusively vegan/vegetarian businesses as well as those that are actively trying to offer more veg-friendly options. Our signature program, New England VegFest, is an amazing day that brings together veg-friendly vendors, non-profits, presenters, and people interested in plant-based living to celebrate vegan food and causes. Other programs include potlucks, holiday events, and a membership program providing discounts at veg-friendly businesses throughout New England.
