WooServes Summer Youth Service Institute

WooServes Summer Youth Service Institute is a 6-week summer development program that connects youth ages 13-18 with volunteer opportunities addressing community issues in Greater Worcester. Volunteer projects help address key community issues around health, food insecurity, youth education, access to outdoor recreation, and emergency
response.

Youth are required to complete a minimum of 20 hours, design and implement a service-learning project, and present their ideas at their graduation ceremony. WooServes participants develop a deeper understanding of ways to address community issues, helping them grow into the next generation of philanthropists and foster civically engaged
communities. The WooServes program also develops teens’ abilities in community leadership, networking, presentation skills, and project development. Skills gained are helpful in preparing for and entering higher education and the
workforce.
