What are the earth day cleanups?
For 36 years, caring Worcester residents have joined the REC in giving our city the spring cleaning necessary to keep it clean, green, and safe. Each spring, we welcome individuals, schools, faith communities, neighborhood associations, businesses, and all others to work alongside each other to remove over 25 tons of trash from our streets, green spaces, and neighborhoods each year. REC provides gloves, and trash bags as well as trash pickup by Worcester's DPW. We hope you can join the effort in 2026!
Call for Earth Day Cleanup Volunteers!
If you have...
✅ A group, team, neighborhood, or business ready to pitch in
✅ A cleanup site in mind (or are open to suggestions!)
✅ An interest in leading volunteers - we’ll provide bags, gloves, trash pickup & support
...sign up as a Site Coordinator and create a team to keep Worcester clean!
When you sign up as a volunteer, you (and your small group of up to 5, if applicable) will be connected with a Site Coordinator and placed at an existing cleanup site. You should expect to be assigned to a site around 2 weeks before the event.
